Design and Experimental Study of Pressure Compensation System for Full-Ocean-Depth Gas-Tight Sediment Sampler

Abstract Aiming at the requirement of full-ocean-depth (operating water depth 11000 m) manned submersible to carry out gas-tight sampling operation abyss seabed sediment, a kind carrier mechanical hand-held, sediment sampler (GTSS) with function pressure-retaining and coring is designed. Firstly, volume change model pressure compensator established, it pointed that about 16.14% equal (GTSS). Secondly, analyzed calculated, relationship between precharge compensator, nominal holding effect studied. The results show increase gas in final also increases. Under same condition, larger greater sampler. Finally, air tightness test method designed by using developed product, tight under different observed. are consistent simulation results, indicating correctness compensation system (PCS) model.
